Randy is a phone service run by Surphone ("we"). Here's what we keep and why, in plain words.

What we collect

Your phone number, because that's how Randy knows it's you. What you tell him on calls: the spots you surf, the boards you ride, how your sessions went. The transcript and recording of each call, kept so Randy remembers and so we can check he told you the truth.

What we do with it

We use it to give you reports, keep your surf journal, and make Randy better at your spots. We don't sell it. We don't rent it. We don't hand it to advertisers.

Your mobile number and any text-messaging opt-in you give us will never be shared with or sold to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Who touches it

The companies that make Randy work: our phone carrier (Twilio), the voice platform (ElevenLabs), the language model provider that helps him talk, and the servers we rent. They process it on our behalf and under their own privacy terms; they don't get to use it for themselves. Forecast data comes from public and licensed sources and has nothing of yours in it.

Texts

Randy only texts you if you ask him to, for example to check in after a session you told him about. Reply STOP at any time to stop texts, HELP for help. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply.

Keeping and deleting

We keep your journal while you're a member. Cancel and it's deleted within 30 days. Want it gone sooner, or want a copy? Email [email protected] or just tell Randy.

Kids

Randy's for adults. If you're under 18, have a parent call him.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes too.
